The Ideals of Director-general
Tainan is a city with the most profound and abundant human cultural atmosphere and agricultural assets. It is also a healthy city member of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). Since December 2011, Tainan has officially promoted as a municipality. Our city also honorably won the first prize in the southern areas from a low-carbon city selection program held by EPA. Tainan becomes one of the excellent environment-friendly examples among low-carbon cities. Environmental protection is a highly complicated task with countless affairs necessarily to deal with. Aside from the effort spent by our bureau colleagues, the success to fulfill this task is also urgently required for the coordination and support from the whole society members.
In coordination with the ideal of "Green New Deal" proposed by our Mayor Lai, in future, we will spare no effort pursuing the vision with humanity-based sustainable low-carbon environment, friendly public service of excellent quality, innovative green economic growth and upgraded international competitiveness accessible. Favored by the effort from both public and private sectors, along with the collaboration from industrial, governmental, academic and researching fields, a recycling low-carbon society and adaptable environment is established.
The policy objectives and priorities of our bureau are detailed as below:

Aggressively promote the plan of a low-carbon city to create a comfortable, clean and beautiful Tainan City.

Strengthen the audits preventing from public pollution hazards, no holidays and dead corners left for environmental protection defects.

Implement the remediation, greening and beautification against river pollutions and reduce energy consumption and carbon emission.

Advocate environmental education and aesthetics; integrate community volunteering effort to establish the environment with excellent quality with the best effort of all city members to create a beautiful Tainan City.

Completely enhance the effectiveness of waste disposal and service quality.

Provide streamlined governmental administration service, innovated application process and improved service efficiency.

Prevent and control possible pollutions, focus on counseling and inspection effort, implement self-management and district guarding, and improve environmental quality.

Expand the collaboration alliance among environmental agencies, prosecutors and polices to eradicate any suspicious dirties solving major environmental problems.

Global thinking and featuring in local environment-friendly actions.

Beyond all, every small problem of a city inhabitant is the very meaning matter to our Environment Protection Bureau. In future, our bureau will do our best to solve environmental problems of city inhabitants and provide highly convenient service procedures to enhance the public satisfaction. Let us collaborate together making the Tainan City become our home with clean, greening and beautiful sustainable low-carbon environment available.
